Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Bajirao Mastani that released on December 18 last year, went on to become a landmark film in the history of Indian cinema and continues to be popularly remembered to this day. Starring Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra, the film grossed an approximate 250 crore and also bagged National Awards in six categories, apart from romping home with innumerable honours at popular award ceremonies.

To mark the film’s first anniversary, Bhansali threw a celebratory dinner for the cast and crew of the movie on the Mumbai sets of his next, Padmavati that stars Ranveer, Deepika and Shahid Kapur in the lead.

The team dropped by on the sets, for an hour-long celebration, including a cake-cutting session and a traditional Puneri Maharashtrian dinner for the 250 unit members. While Ranveer and Priyanka were not in Mumbai, Deepika did drop in.

Says a unit source, “Sanjay Leela Bhansali was flooded with congratulatory messages on the occasion of Bajirao Mastani completing a year. He wanted to celebrate the occasion with the team of the film. A traditional Puneri Maharashtrian dinner was organised for the 250 unit members, by a Dadar-based catering service.”

Priyanka, Ranveer and Deepika also took to Twitter to thank Bhansali for making them part of such an epic.
