The husband-wife creative duo of  Nitesh and Ashwiny Tiwari is ecstatic after winning the Filmfare Awards. While Nitesh won the Best Director’s Award for Dangal, his wife bagged the Filmfare Best Debut Director’s Award for her film Nil Battey Sannata written by among others, Nitesh. Ashwiny’s next directorial venture Bareilly Ki Barfi is also written by husband Nitesh and stars Kriti Sanon, Ayushmann Khurrana and Rajkummar Rao.

The star cast of the film took to Twitter to congratulate Ashwiny. Rajkummar tweets, “@Ashwinyiyer See I told you. @Filmfare award for best debut director. So proud of you bestie. Ab #BareillykiBarfi khilao jaldi se.”

Ayushmann chips in, “@filmfare @Ashwinyiyer so proud of you Ashwiny!!! Best debut director. Fly even higher with our next #bareillykibarfi.”

Ashwiny’s debut film was widely appreciated and critically acclaimed, and it would be interesting to see her foraying into a completely different genre with her second movie slated to release on July 21.

Meanwhile, Nitesh’s Dangal is still continuing with its successful run at the box-office having netted more than Rs 370 crore in the domestic market, becoming the highest grosser ever in the history of Bollywood. Well, the husband-wife duo is on a high.
