Now this makes an interesting news. Filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani’s son Vir is assisting his father on the Sanjay Dutt biopic that has Ranbir Kapoor essaying the role of Dutt. Hirani was initially surprised when his son showed his eagerness to be his assistant for the film.

Vir is treated no differently on the sets. The responsibility requires him to help all the assistant directors and work closely with them. Vir is also entrusted with the job of giving the clap before a shot. The teenaged son of the acclaimed filmmaker has already directed a short film called The Return Gift that was screened at the 19th International Children’s Film Festival of India in Hyderabad in 2015 in the Little Director’s category.

It was based on a story narrated to him by his grandmother. He later directed his second short film. He has the genes and also the eagerness to learn. Hopefully the training under his father will do him wonders.
