Actress Sonakshi Sinha who plays a journalist Noor in her forthcoming film of the same name is fascinated by the Urdu language. According to her, the language exudes respect and romance. She has always been keen to learn the language and often tries to use some Urdu words in her everyday conversations. Noor is based on Pakistani author Saba Imtiaz’s novel, Karachi, You’re Killing Me! It is directed by Sunhil Sippy and releases on April 21.

Sonakshi also picks Urdu words from songs she hears or scripts she reads and mentally jots them down. She feels lucky that two of her characters, Pakhi in Lootera and now Noor have been inspired from the language. Pakhi means the knife and Noor means the light in Urdu.
