Deepika Padukone is on a research spree to prep for her role in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmavati. The actress who plays Rani Padmini in the film, went on a solo expedition to the Chittorgarh city in Rajasthan. Deepika is taking extra efforts to give her best to the film.

Deepika, who was earlier spotted carrying books on the history of Rajasthan, walked around the local places and historical sites in the city to get familiar with all the age-old structures and also gather information about them. Rani Padmini was brought to Chittorgarh or Chittor by the Rajput ruler Raja Rawal Ratan Singh after marriage. While talking about history, Deepika says, “I shot for Padmavati in November and December. There was something extremely magical about it and I hope that the magic continues when I start shooting for the film again.” Padmavati also stars Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapur among others.
